ngl one of the main reasons i ship romione is because hermione got a cat that is the cat version of ron

…you just blew my entire mind

BIG, GINGER, GRUMPY, AND A LITTLE VIOLENT who am i talking about ron or crookshanks you don’t know

My mind keeps also drawing comparisons between Ron the Consistently Underappreciated with his overachieving brothers, and Crookshanks who languished at the pet store watching the cuter kittens get adopted…

This also makes Ron’s dislike of Crookshanks pretty hilarious

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY THE CRUX OF MY CROOKSHANKS IS THE CAT VERSION OF RON PHILOSOPHY. Fucking of course he hates that cat because he is that cat and he is Ron fucking Weasley. If Ron Weasley had a double that double would be better than him and he’d hate him too.

And of course Hermione has a soft spot for the most disagreeable, underdog cat in the world.

Befrends a lonly black haired dog who had spent years neglected and locked away.

That addition hurts my fucking heart

FUCK

many people have been saying since the beginning he is going to come after citizens. First he came for undocumented, then for green card holders, and now for actual citizens. This doesn’t end with just that.

This is also happening in the context of an extremely close Senate election in Texas where a Democrat, Beto O’Rourke, is in a statistical tie with wildly unpopular Republican incumbent Ted Cruz. There’s a lot of energy on the Democratic side of this election, especially in this state, and you know what happens if your citizenship is in question, if your birth certificate is no longer proof of where you were born

You can’t vote.

Who knew an administration headed by the guy who got his start in politics by questioning the citizenship of America’s only non-white president would end up questioning the citizenship of other non-white people?

This administration is on a trajectory to disenfranchise, and if possible, deport every group of people it views as “other”, or as unfriendly to its interests before it is finished.

So when a kid is laying on the floor in a shop screaming u get down to their level n say ohhh noooo darling don’t do that pleaaaase that’s naughty cmon get up be a good boy or girl. The kids gonna stop n get up lmao. U say if u don’t get up right now I’m gonna give ya a whip on the arse..1…2…n I bet they’ll get up.

No. You remove your child from the scene (because children are often reacting to overstimulation such as the grocery store is too loud, the room is too bright, there’s people they don’t know around, they’ve been there too long etc) and go somewhere quiet. You then sit with them as they cry, reassuring them that you are present, and once they have stopped crying you offer comfort and ask if they know what it is that they were so upset about. Then you calmly talk to them so they – and you – can understand and fix the problem that was the root of the tantrum.

Bad example;
‘Why are you crying?’
‘I’m hungry’
‘Well we’re going home soon!’

Good example;
‘Do you know why you were crying?’
‘I’m hungry’
‘We’re at the grocery store to get food. We only have three more aisles to go. We can count them down together. Then we’ll go home and we can eat.’

Children don’t understand ‘soon’; even for adults, ‘soon’ is a relative term. children understand things like ‘three aisles. Two. One. Now we’re going home!’

Children need communication, understanding and teaching. Not beating, intimidating or belittling.
