Part of the appeal, to me, of listening to other people’s thoughts/reactions on a piece of media is that they always seem to pull something different out of it than what I or others have gleaned from the work – especially with really dense, well-crafted media like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Like, when I watched it, I gained my own insight into the themes it presented, but what TheFlamingShark noted in his last reaction video about the relationship between “Father” and “The Truth” really struck me (and shocked me that I hadn’t thought of it that succinctly and clearly at least):
