thor ragnarok came out a year ago but i think we havent talked enough about how genuinely funny it is that loki tried to put his father, the ruler of asgard and protector of the 9 realms, in a fucking retirement center in new york city, or the fact that the minute loki tried to find odin at said fucking retirement center, its immediately demolished and his delusional elderly god-father is now on the loose anywhere in the galaxy
Or how when loki was posing as Odin he crafted a whole holiday dedicated to himself complete with a dramatization of his own death and how when he landed on sakaar he like immediately started planning on seducing the grandmaster just so he could kill him and then take over sakaar as his grieving widow every single scene with loki in it in ragnarok is a comedic masterpiece
thor ragnarok is literally 18x funnier when u realize the grandmaster knows what’s going on the entire time. he is telepathic and can read minds so he legit just let shit go down just for fun bc he’s such a drama hoe
loki, thinking they’ve sleezed their way out of another mess: oh ill totally bring those traitors back to you oh great powerful grandmaster
the grandmaster, knowing damn well that’s not going to happen: haha yeah
okay but the screenwriter for Thor: Ragnarok is obviously intimately aware of what it’s like to have siblings because like…the snake scene? Bickering at every opportunity? Throwing things at each other for no real reason? “You know this guy?” “I have no idea who this person is”? Smirking when your sibling does something cool because ‘nothing but respect for MY sibling’ and then turning around and punching each other in the face right afterward? Stabbing each other for fun and then going ‘oh come on you big baby, that didn’t even hurt’? The fucking ‘Get Help’ scene? Like bruh…that is some Truth in Hollywood right there

but also the concealed worry about your sibling getting actually hurt, even though you know they’ll probably be fine
Loki’s extremely obvious eyerolling when those girls approach Thor in public and ask for a selfie
*sibling walks in while you’re trying to cause trouble and enjoy yourself* “oh shit”
i can’t believe thor wearing arm guards with loki’s helmet on them in avengers AND thor having a strand of loki’s hair braided into his own hair in age of ultron are both real things that the costume department did and loki in ragnarok still has the gall to ask poor thor “did you mourn me?” like yes loki you made your jock brother so sad that he started accessorizing
