a person i follow has been possessed by a p*rn bot
That said, I’ve been filling the void of ‘finishing’ that show by renting out batman the animated series and the New 52 (I know, I know) from my library, and also watching Holy Musical B@tman! on youtube
so like, expect a batsy phase on this blog
¯_(ツ)_/¯
So i’ve been having my queue run posts for the longest time w/out me being here to live-reblog things mostly because I’ve been working two jobs (and still am), but also because me and my dad have been binge-watching G/o/th@m on Netflix, which’d been on my To Watch list since forever, and well, their final season starts in January, so…
but anyway, I’ll def be reblogging posts from/about that show but it’s not necessarily a good show tbh. I’ll be putting my complaints about it below the cut simply to get it out of my system, but obviously I did enjoy something about it since I have posts queued and stuff. (Mostly it was the acting from the actors—like stellar performances by basically everyone from the cast at some point during the 4 seasons)
Mostly these are complaints I couldn’t talk about with my dad
1) while the show is extremely violent towards almost every demographic (kids have mostly been spared from the gorefest), disproportionately the most gruesome violence/deaths happen to women or black people (specifically black men as “throwaway npcs” (or black folks getting in the way of the white protags ‘doing good’)). And the racism/misogyny baked into the show has noticeably bled over into the fandom itself from what i’ve seen so far (and the misogyny in fics has been like 2002 H/@/rry P/o/tter fandom level it’s sooo…. yikes)
2) I know it’s old wank in the fandom by now, but i have to give my own thoughts to the whole Ed/Ozzie stuff. Like, I didn’t expect for them to have any sort of happy outcome since this show’s MO seems to be that no one can have happiness last for more than, like, an episode, But did people really expect the showrunners to give the pairing any more dignity than they had based on the way they’ve treated the other same gender relationships on the show???? (or did people not just care then because they were w/w??) Like Barb/Montoya was only there long enough to be the wrench in Jim/Barb’s relationship and then Mo/n/toya…. disappears… from the show… completely??? 60-some episodes of showtime without her reappearing again At All. Meanwhile, Barb seems to hook up with a villain lady (Tabby), but only in a sort of superficial fanservice-for-boys way?? (they make out in front of Tabby’s brother (the camera having them in the shot but the focus being on the bro watching them) and once they finish making out the bro’s like “glad you’re making friends, Tabby”–you know, in that way that str@ight people always downgrade w/w relationships to ‘just friends’–and as the show goes on, the show itself does just that to them too. even when they’re still kissing/dating/whatever the Het relationships are the ones prioritized -> Barb continually voicing her dream to marry Jim while she’s in the midst of her relationship with Tabby, and Tabby 100% migrating over to dating/being with Butch (in a fandom context, I could interpret it as poly, but in canon, it’s def meant to not be viewed as such). And like, DC has, from what I’ve come to notice in their tv shows, a habit of going all out on q rep but then slowly reneging it as the show goes on (like some kind of reverse q-bait). It happened in the first season of Bl@/c/k Light/n/ing where one of the characters is introduced as a lesbianbut then she breaks up with her gf, doesn’t get with the girl they broke up over, and her dad later jokes with her about doing something because of a boy she likes??? when she’s out??? as a lesbian??????? Like, in comparison, while they did do Ed/Oz dirty with the way Ed’s acted, their story/Oz’s affection was treated with more dignity in the show than any other same gender pairing imo.
3) Making Jim into the unlikable character that he is
4) the way that Bruce treats Selina. Like he continuously comes to her for help and she basically drops everything to help him out in these dangerous situations almost all the time, but whenever she needs something, he always brushes her off. The one time he actually helps her out, it’s 4 seasons in… and then he later breaks his promise to not leave her when she’s in the hospital with her spine ruptured???? just so he could uselessly stay in a mostly empty city with Jim??? dude wtf
Okay, so how are you all figuring out which of your posts are getting flagged so you can fix ‘em?
I haven’t gotten an email or anything of the sort, but going just through my queue, I have 2 flagged posts (i’d have to contact the OPs about, since we can’t request review of posts we didn’t create (and how’ll that work for OPs that’ve deactivated??))
You ever read a fic so far up your alley, you wonder if this is what it feels like to fall in love?
Apparently, it’s his birthday today

this girl voted!!
so i deleted that one voting related post i reblogged because, on further inspection, the op seemed kinda sketchy and people in the notes of the post were saying the registration tool in question had been used by both parties for years.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Guess my personal stance on registration will always be just checking in with your local municipal government office to see if you’re registered/go register to vote.
The last thing I expected watching Moonlight to cause would be a vivid flashback to an extremely awkward High School memory
