Why does a map of London make it look like the country of Amestris?

the one thing I’ve learned so far while attempting to work on this fest fic is that trying to write again after not writing creatively for over nine months is like trying to scrape the rust off a nail
*trying to write, when I’m suddenly hit with great sense of insecurity and doubt over my writing skill and overwhelmed about whether I can satisfactorily (to my own standards) pull off everything I want to pull off (and then some) in this writing project.
Gets the brilliant idea to read one of my favorite fics that I know is well written, so as to help inspire my writing side.

Reads the first, relatively brief, scene. Is overcome by the level of skill involved in such compact yet informational writing that manages to sucker-punch the feels immediately. Also notes how literally no sentence or word was wasted space and its level of craftmanship shown in how effortless it is to read and understand and feel with the characters.*
I think I’m gonna just go lie down now and stare at my ceiling for awhile

Since I don’t really have any kind of ships that I’m interested in or characters I like enough to search out fic for regarding Voltron, I decided to spend my afternoon bingeing a bunch of Voltron conspiracy theory videos on YouTube

hell yeah
So I started watching that Voltron show I’ve seen several posts about on my dash.
And I gotta say, I can’t believe they made an episode riffing Mall Cop of all things
Note to self: still need to watch Cowboy Bebop
When shit finally starts hitting the fan in the fic you’re reading and you can see – no, you know where it’s going, and it ain’t gonna be good

🎉
Happy New Year y’all!
🎊 🎆
It’s kinda weird, reading gen fic and then seeing your otp of the fandom interacting – like you get weirdly excited like you do with canon interactions between them.
