It’s official! Happy Spyro day everyone!! It’s out in the world 🙂 I was blessed to be invited to redesign many of these characters alongside the amazing team at Toys For Bob. Working on Spyro was a real childhood dream come true! On the occasion of the release, I thought I’d bring back a handful of the concepts of mine that have been officially released- each character was its own unique challenge and hopefully in the end we’ve done right by the fans who have loved Spyro since his debut so many years ago! I’ve gotta go get in my dragon onesie and fire this up- see y’all in the realms 🙂
The ability to frolic around for fun is an under appreciated aspect of video gaming and part of why playing as people/people-like characters is often boring. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk everybody.
I got so hyped about the Spyro remake that I had to :’D But i am not good with drawing dragons haha;;; It was fun either way ! The gliding animations after every completed level were always my favorite >w< And the cute squishy run 😀
IGN received a mysterious egg in the mail, and if the clues it leads to are real, we may soon se the return of Spyro the Dragon.
A package addressed from “Falcon McBob” sent to IGN came with a purple, scaly egg and letter “written” from McBob saying “Something’s about to hatch.”
The mysterious purple egg.
A quick search for Falcon McBob online gets you an interesting result. A Twitter account with the name Falcon McBob is private, and its handle is @SpyrotheDragon.
Of course, Spyro is also purple and scaly. But through our expert analysis we have concluded he is not an egg but a dragon…that likely hatched from an egg.
The account is currently unverified, but with recent reports suggesting a Spyro the Dragon original trilogy remaster is in the works, much in the way Crash Bandicoot had one last year, the egg could be the first clue ahead of some official announcement.
IGN has reached out to Activision for official comment and will update this story should they respond or with any new updates.
